UK transport minister Simon Lightwood will deliver the opening keynote at Zemo's 2024 Summit which takes place on October 3rd. Fiona Hyslop MSP who leads transport policy in Scotland and her Wales counterpart, Ken Skates MS will speak for the devolved governments. They lead a stellar cast of speakers representing governments and authorities at all levels critical to transport's decarbonisation transition.
As we move into the key delivery phase of the transport decarbonisation transition, more and more of the key actions and initiatives will need to take place at the sub-national and local level. The Summit will include contributions from Martin Tugwell and Anne Shaw, respectively leaders of Transport for the North and Transport for the West Midlands. The local government sector is represented by Cllr Adam Hug, recently appointed to the Local Infrastructure and Net Zero (LINZ) Board of the Local Government Association.
Lord Deben, Chair of the Zemo-convened Council for Net Zero Transport will also deliver a morning keynote and discuss the Council's latest progress and future priorities with some of its representatives in a panel session.
Zemo's launch director, Professor Sir Jim Skea, now Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will deliver the latest climate science news from the World's leading scientific body for the investigation of climate change and its impacts.
