Vectrix has launched an electric motorbike which the company claims runs like a conventionally-fuelled fuelled bike. The launch, at London’s new Spitalfield’s Market, showcased the 'zero emissions scooter', boasting acceleration from 0 to 50 mph in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of more than 60mph.

The Super-Scooter has a range of 68 miles on two hours of charging from a standard electrical socket, the equivalent of 20 pence worth of electricity.  The company claims it can travel 1000 miles for less than £3.

London Vectrix owners will receive unlimited recharging at any of the 300 recharging points that are set to become fixtures on London’s streets by the end of this year. Vectrix owners can also save on travel-related costs as the vehicle is exempt from road tax and receives a 100% discount on the London congestion charge.
