The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) have come to a joint agreement to grant £10m to 16 R&D projects focusing on low carbon vehicle technologies.
The consortia developing the technologies will be led by companies that include Advanced Composites, Bladon Jets, Cobham CTS, Jaguar Cars and Morgan Motor Company.
The TSB had originally allocated £8m to co-fund research and development projects, but said that due to the number of high quality applications BIS has agreed provide an additonal £2m to top up the fund. With contributions from the participating companies, the total value of the projects rises to more than £19m.
Projects were selected through the “Highly innovative strategic technologies in low carbon vehicles” competition for collaborative R&D funding.
