The Transport Secretary Philip Hammond was a speaker at a LowCVP/Greener Journeys fringe meeting held in association with Transport Times at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham on October 5.The LowCVP collaborated in a series of fringe meetings which took place at the Climate Clinic at each of this year's Party Conferences. The events were held on the theme: "Low Cost & Low Carbon – Delivering Sustainable Transport in an Age of Austerity".

The events were previewed, and will be reviewed, by Transport Times - a leading transport policy journal.

The Climate Clinic is a coalition of leading environment and development organisations, think tanks, public bodies and professional associations – all demanding political action on climate change. The organisations are working together to show politicians how climate change is affecting us all and together look at solutions to the challenges faced.

A report - prepared b De Havilland Public Affairs - on each of the party conference meetings is available on request from the LowCVP Secretariat: secretariat@lowcvp.org.uk.
