A new report prepared by CE Delft for the the European Climate Action Network (CAN) says that planning for cuts in industrial CO2 emissions does not have to affect European competitiveness.

This report shows that a lowering of emissions is possible using technologies that either already exist, are now in the pilot phase or are close to being applied in demonstrator projects. According to the report, most of these technologies will reach market maturity between 2020 and 2030. The report makes specific policy recommendations to be implemented within the next decade.

The report is entitled: "Technological developments in Europe - A long-term view of CO2 efficient manufacturing in the European region".
