The Renewable Fuels Agency (RFA), the new body which came into existence with the passing of the Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (RTFO) in October, is in the process of recruiting a Chief Executive and a Head of Carbon and Sustainability Reporting.
The RFA will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the RTFO, which will come into force in April 2008. By 2010, the Obligation will mean that 5% of all the fuels sold in the UK should be biofuel (of renewable origin).
The recent appointees to the new RFA Board, which will be chaired by Professor Ed Gallagher (former Chief Executive of the Environment Agency), are to advise the Government on the establishment and strategic direction of the new Agency. An interim Chief Executive has been appointed to help establish the RFA until the advertised appointment is made.
Advertisements for the two positions, to be based in Hastings, have appeared in various media. See the related links for full details about the roles and the application process.
