The US electric vehicle start-up company, Better Place, and Danish utility operator DONG Energy have announced plans to build an electric charging network in Denmark to enable motorists to switch to electric cars.
The two companies said they have signed a deal to encourage the uptake of electric vehicles "at attractive prices." Better Place is to provide electric vehicles while DONG Energy will invest in an accessible infrastructure. Better Place says it has raised $135m in private funding for the Denmark Project.
The LowCVP news recently reported announcements by Better Place about the introduction of an electric vehicle and recharging network in Israel and for battery exchange stations in Japan. Electric vehicle developments are also reported to be under way in Ireland and Portugal. (See associated links)
