New Shell LiveWIRE Smarter Future programme to encourage young entrepreneurs to create a sustainable future

The Shell LiveWIRE Smarter Future programme which has recently been announced seeks to inspire young entrepreneurs to create a sustainable future. Through the programme, Shell is looking to identify and reward young entrepreneurs in the UK who have businesses providing innovative solutions to the society's most significant challenges, including in the area of transport.  

The competition will focus on ideas that will address the world’s future transport, food, energy or natural resources challenges or make urban environments cleaner, healthier and more sustainable places in which to live and work. The competition is open to new UK business owners who are aged 16-30. The business must be within its first 12 months of trading. The entrants must have innovative business ideas to help address some of the world's biggest challenges.

All Smarter Future Award winners are automatically considered for the annual Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

The monthly £5,000 award funding is intended to help successful applicants to take their business idea to the next level.

The next deadline for receipt of applications is midnight on 30 April 2015.
