The new Labour leader Ed Miliband has announced his Shadow Cabinet team. Maria Eagle is the new Shadow Transport Secretary while John Denham takes on the role of Shadow Secretary for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Amongst other appointments, Meg Hillier is named as Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change.
Maria Eagle is the MP for Liverpool Garston and Halewood. A former minister in the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Education and Skills, she was also formerly Minister for Women and Equality.
