The LowCVP held a workshop in mid-December to kick-off  a project to determine the options for cutting carbon emissions from smaller road vehicles including motorbikes, mopeds and quadricycles with a workshop on December 17. The L Category workshop examined the carbon reduction potential from this growing market segment.

With the development of electric bikes, scooters, fuel cell motorbikes and introduction of quadricycles such as the Renault Twizy, the options for this type of low carbon transport are increasing. Up to now, the LowCVP has considered only vehicles in the M1 (passenger car) and larger categories.

In urban environments smaller vehicles can provide significant carbon, air quality and congestion benefits. The project aims to bring a variety of stakeholders together to discuss the opportunities and potential LowCVP activity in this area.

For more information about the project please contact the LowCVP Secretariat.
