The LowCVP's Head of Projects, Gloria Esposito, was guest speaker at an event in Beijing organised by the Innovation Centre for Energy and Transport (ICET) on 15 August. Her presentation to a wide-ranging and international group of senior stakeholders focused on the LowCVP's activities in influencing UK policy and demonstrating best practise in stakeholder engagement.

The workshop was organised by ICET in partnership with UNEP and the British Embassy.  ICET is a policy 'think- tank' based in Beijing which focuses on influencing policy development and stakeholder collaboration in China in the areas of clean transport, energy and carbon management.

The aim of the workshop was to being together Chinese car manufacturers and Government officials to discuss how China's fuel economy standards, which are now under review, could be strengthened.

On the second day of her visit, Gloria met with the Climate Change and Energy Consul of the British Embassy to share experience of policy and market development in low emission vehicles. She also attended meetings with Beijing's Municipal Transport Commission and gave presentations on LowCVP's work programme as well as electric vehicle policy and infrastructure development in the UK. The presentations were followed by very lengthy question and answer sessions!
