The LowCVP annual conference - held on June 28 at the DTI Conference Centre, Westminster - featured the announcement of the winners of the LowCVP's Cars NOT Carbon competition and also reported the results of a new survey of stakeholder attitudes relating to the low carbon transport agenda.
An audience of about 200 people heard presentations from leading speakers including Professor Julia King (who is leading the King-Stern Review on cutting carbon from road transport) Mike Longhurst of McCann Erickson, Jos Dings of T&E and Graham Smith, chair of the LowCVP.
Over 90% of respondents to a post-event survey conducted by the LowCVP secretariat described the event as 'very good' or 'good' and a similar percentage rated the cost of attending it as 'good value' or 'reasonable'.
Based on responses from about a quarter of the event attendees, the most highly-rated sessions of the conference were the morning presentations on marketing approaches and the regulation debate chaired by Observer journalist Juliette Jowit before lunch. 22% of respondents rated the Cars NOT Carbon concept and presentations as 'very good' (34% 'good' and 32% 'average'). Also highly rated was the presentation of the LowCVP stakeholder survey results and the biofuels debate which ended the conference.
All the LowCVP conference presentations and a selection of pictures are available on the website (see adjacent links). The biofuels debate was also featured on Green TV (viewable via the associated link).
