LowCVP Conference, 8 June - full agenda announced

The San Francisco Mayor's Director of Climate Protection will join the LowCVP conference on June 8th by live video link. Wade Crowfoot joins a high profile list of speakers at the event which also includes Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon MP and Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

The LowCVP's sixth annual conference - "The Changing Climate for Vehicles and Fuels"  - will take place at City Hall, London. (Click here for the full agenda.)

The morning session will feature an update on the latest climate change science from Dr Kevin Anderson of the Tyndall Centre and the response from business to the threat by Neil Bentley, Director, Business Environment at the CBI.

Ed Crooks, Energy Editor of the Financial Times will chair a debate session during the morning and Steve Fowler, Group Editor of What Car? will lead a debate in the afternoon on meeting the European new car CO2 regulations. That debate will feature senior figures from the motor industry as well as Dr Doug Parr of Greenpeace.

Following the London Mayor and the contribution from San Francisco in the early afternoon, Josh Steinmann of Better Place will describe international moves to stimulate the uptake of electric vehicles and recharging facilities.

The conference is being held in association with the WhatCar? Green Awards and with the Revolve London to Brighton Eco-Rally. The What Car? Awards will follow the conference and vehicles on the Eco-Rally will arrive at City Hall during the afternoon.
