Mon 25 June 2007 View all news

There are just a few delegate places - and one or two spaces for exhibitors - remaining for the LowCVP annual conference. Any LowCVP members, or others, planning to attend the event should ensure they are registered as soon as possible to make sure of a place.

This year's conference will feature a keynote address by the Secretary of State for Transport, Douglas Alexander, and many other high profile speakers including Professor Julia King (who - with Sir Nick Stern - is leading the Government's review on road transport de-carbonisation) and the Green MEP Dr Caroline Lucas.

The event will feature the winning entries to the Cars NOT Carbon competition which aims to promote greener motoring marketing. There will be debates on 'hot topics' including CO2 regulation and biofuels. Delegates will also be the first to learn the results of the largest survey of the opinions of the LowCVP's 250+ stakeholder organisations and the latest news on the car fuel economy label roll-out.

The LowCVP 2007 conference will feature sessions focusing on:

* Cutting carbon - what are the key policies to deliver greener road transport?

* 'Greener' motoring marketing - how it can cut road transport's carbon footprint

* BIG debates - 'Can regulation cut road transport carbon?' plus 'Biofuels: more good than harm?'

* The King/Stern review - de-carbonising road transport

* plus leading speakers including Transport Secretary, Douglas Alexander; Professor Julia King (King/Stern Review); Mike Longhurst, McCann-Erickson; Jos Dings T&E; Graham Smith, SMMT President and LowCVP Chair; Caroline Lucas MEP; Juliette Jowit, Observer Correspondent; Naresh Ramchandani, Guardian Columnist and many more...(see full agenda via link below)

The afternoon's optional 'Cars NOT Carbon' break-out session will include an opportunity to hear from - and debate with - winning competition entrants as well as from Matt Wyatt of Leo Burnett (the agency which produced the Government's 'Act on CO2' campaign) and Mike Longhurst of McCann Erickson.

There will be a 25% discount on delegate rates for representatives of LowCVP member organisations.

A small number of exhibition spaces at the event are also still available. Contact the LowCVP secretariat - secretariat@lowcvp.org.uk - in the first instance for details of these, and of a remaining sponsorship opportunity.

Conference bookings are being handled on behalf of the LowCVP by the Waterfront Conference Company. Booking forms and details are available via the adjacent link.
