LowCVP Conference, 23 July - 'Early Bird' discount ends tomorrow!

Delegates planning to attend the LowCVP Conference on 23 July can save £30 by booking their place before the 'Early Bird' discount ends tomorrow (close of business Weds 25 June).

Conference attendees will gain an early insight into environmental transport plans for London under Mayor Boris Johnson. Kulveer Ranger, the Mayor's newly appointed Director of Transport Policy will speak in the opening session of the conference, following Stefan Moser of the European Commission's Environment Directorate and the Transport Secretary, Ruth Kelly. Mr Moser speaks for EC's Environment Directorate which has lead responsibility for the EU's 'Cars and CO2' regulatory plans.

The LowCVP’s fifth annual conference will also give delegates the opportunity to learn the outcomes of the critical ‘Gallagher Review’ of biofuels policy, the Government’s response to the King Review of low carbon cars as well as being the first to hear the results of new transport policy research. The event will cover all the leading issues at the top of the low carbon road transport agenda.

There will also be contributions from Professor Julia King (lead author of 'The King Review' on de-carbonising road transport), Professor Jim Skea UKERC Research Director, the RFA chairman Professor Ed Gallagher, the SMMT Chief Executive Paul Everitt and Green Party Mayoral Candidate Sian Berry.

Sean O'Grady, Associate Editor and Motoring Writer for The Independent will chair the morning conference sessions and Ed Crooks, The Financial Times' Energy Editor, will chair the afternoon 'BBC Question Time - style' panel debate.

The LowCVP conference will take place alongside the Motor Show at London Docklands' ExCel Centre. Delegates will also have the chance to join a private reception in the Greener Driving Pavilion within the Motor Show after the conference and to visit the Motor Show itself during the evening of this ‘VIP Day’ .

Included in the conference proceedings will be:

- The latest international, national and local policy developments from leading speakers, including the latest on the EU’s ‘Cars and CO2’ regulation and the new London Mayor's environmental plans for transport in London
- The outcomes from the ‘Gallagher Review’ of the indirect effects of biofuels
