The development of a hydrogen refuelling facility in Hornchurch, Essex, to support the operation of hydrogen fuel cell buses in London has been allowed to proceed following an appeal by developers BP.
The buses, manufactured by DaimlerChrysler, have already begun operating, but BP has had to bring in individual canisters of hydrogen gas at a much higher cost than delivering fuel from the Hornchurch site.
