'Greener' car display at Labour Party Conference, 23-26 Sept

Tue 07 August 2007 View all news

The LowCVP is coordinating a display of 'greener' vehicles as a part of the Climate Clinic initiative at this year's Labour Party Conference. The display will take place throughout the conference (23-26 September) on a site adjacent to the Climate Clinic and directly opposite the BICC; the main conference centre.

The Climate Clinic is a coalition of 27 leading environmental NGOs, low-carbon energy trade associations, public bodies and think-tanks who are collaborating to put climate change at the heart of this year’s party conferences. The Climate Clinic, which was established in 2006, will host a comprehensive programme of fringe and special events in dedicated venues at each of the three party political conferences during September and October 2007.

A limited amount of space is being made available by the Climate Clinic group - which includes the LowCVP - for the car display. (Preference is likely to be given to vehicles with emissions below 140g/km.)

A wide range of events will be taking place at the Climate Clinic (mainly during lunchtimes and the early evenings) so a high level of interest is expected from a well-informed, policy-making/influencing audience.

Anyone interested in more details about the 'greener' car display should email the LowCVP secretariat - secretariat@lowcvp.org.uk or call 020 7304 7040.
