The Government is to work with the Technology Strategy Board to launch a competition for £8m capital funding to pump-prime procurement of low emission HGV technologies and their supporting infrastructure. The funding includes £6.5m for a low emission vehicle demonstration trial plus the supporting infrastructure for trial vehicles, coupled with £1.5m targeted funding for public gas refuelling hubs. The intention is to launch the funding competition in March 2012 following a period of consultation.
The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) has set up two email addresses for those who want to register their interest in the low carbon truck trial and the public gas refuelling infrastructure competitions. The addresses are: lowcarbontrucktrial@tsb.gov.uk and publicgashubs@tsb.gov.uk
