General Motors and Toyota are at an advanced stage in discussions about building a joint factory to make car engines fuelled by hydrogen according to a report in the Financial Times (12 May).
The deal would help the companies – the world’s two largest car manufacturers – share the large set up costs of the project.
Toyota and GM have cooperated in fuel cell technology development for some years but, according to the FT, the discussions now under way are much more significant.
