Exhibitors at theLowCVP Conference which will take place on June 9 at the Clifford Chance Auditorium, Canary Wharf include: Michelin, BP, Cenex, Coventry University, Oxford Brookes University, Environmental Protection UK and the Nuffield Council on Bioethics. There are only one or two exhibition spaces left at the event.

BP: BP is of one of the world's largest energy companies, providing its customers with fuel for transportation, energy for heat and light, retail services and petrochemicals products for everyday items. Since 2006, BP has announced commitments of more than $2billion into biofuels research, development and operations, including investments in production facilities in Europe, Brazil and the US. The company has a global biofuels technology centre, located in San Diego in the US and is investing $500 million over 10 years in the Energy Biosciences Institute (EBI), at which biotechnologists are investigating applications of biotechnology to energy.

The Campaign for Better Tyres (EP-UK): The Campaign for Better Tyres is promoting energy efficient, low noise and safe tyres with the aim of cutting transport related emissions, reducing traffic noise and improving safety on the roads. The Campaign is working with business and public sector fleets, offering advice on tyre procurement and information on the new EU tyre labels, due to be introduced in November 2012.

Cenex: Cenex is the UK’s first Centre of Excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies. Cenex delivers programmes and projects designed to accelerate the introduction of low carbon vehicles. Since its inception in 2005, Cenex has worked for the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills helping create and deliver projects to support UK supply chain development. 

Coventry University: (Coventry University can trace its roots back to 1843 and has a long tradition as a provider of education, with a history of excellence in the fields of automotive design and engineering. The University has has over 5000 students studying automotive related course, including design, engineering and journalism. The University is currently running collaborative low carbon vehicles research projects worth over £4 million.

Nuffield Council on Bioethics: The Nuffield Council on Bioethics is an independent charitable body that examines and reports on ethical issues raised by new developments in biology and medicine. In 2009, the Council set up a Working Party to examine the ethical issues raised by biofuels. Following a public consultation and several meetings with stakeholders including industry representatives, scientists, charities and policy makers, the report 'Biofuels: ethical issues' was published on 13th April 2011. The report sets out a framework of evaluation to guide ethical policy making for biofuels. Specific recommendations for policy are made in the following areas: human rights; environmental sustainability; climate change; just reward; and equitable distribution of costs and benefits. The report is available to download from the Council's website.

Oxford Brookes University: The Sustainable Vehicle Engineering Centre (SVEC) is based at Oxford Brookes University. SVEC is a Centre of Excellence for Energy- and Resource-Efficient Technologies for the Automotive Industry, concerned with current and future challenges facing this sector. SVEC deals with (i) forecasting, strategy and the implications of legislation (ii) life-cycle analysis and end-of-life (iii) development of sustainable technologies (iv) electric vehicle introduction and e-mobility research (v) infrastructure, personal mobility and transport.
Its patron is Lord Montagu of Beaulieu and strategic direction is provided by a very influential advisory board drawn from industry and commerce.
