Europe's leading oil companies have joined forces with the European Commission in a campaign to promote more efficient driving. Over forty oil companies, under the auspices of their European Association EUROPIA, have launched the initiative in 29 countries and involving over 45,000 petrol stations.

The “Save more than fuel” campaign, will offer consumers ten simple tips for driving more efficiently. Leaflets will be distributed at service stations of the 17 EUROPIA members and 25 associated companies.

The initiative has been championed within the European Commission by the Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs.

The UK Government recently launched 'smarter driving' advice for UK drivers under its 'Act on CO2'  initiative (see associated link).
