The Energy Saving Trust is inviting entries for the 2009 Fleet Hero Awards - the annual event which recognises businesses that have gone the extra mile to reduce carbon emissions from their fleet operations. The awards event will take place at City Hall during November (date to be confirmed).
The Fleet Hero Awards is funded by the Department for Transport and supported by the CBI and The Guardian newspaper. The 2009 competition was recently launched and entrants have until August 24 to submit applications. With 11 categories covering topics such business mileage, grey fleet, innovation in car and van manufacturing and the best public and private sector fleets, there’s an opportunity for all organisations in the fleet industry to promote their environmental success stories. A 250 word explanation is all that is required to explain why your fleet should be recognised as a Fleet Hero. The winners will be announced at an event at City Hall, London in November and there will be profiles and more information in a special supplement in The Guardian, the official Fleet Heroes media partner.
