The Department for Transport says it will announce a decision on the "consolidation of existing support mechanisms for ultra-low emission vehicle research and development" in July. The DfT says the decision has been delayed to ensure that it can be taken in the context of the electric vehicle infrastructure strategy, which has just been published.
In a Parliamentary answer to a question by Maria Eagle the shadow transport spokesman, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport Norman Baker said that the decision would be taken before the end of July.
The target date for the decision is also published in the DfT's Structural Reform Plan (SRP) update for May 2011. An earlier target date for the decision had been projected in original versions of the SRP.
