The Department for Transport has announced a public consultation on how fuel consumption and CO2 information is to be displayed in vehicle showrooms. The consultation could lead to dealerships being allowed to display information on scrolling electronic screens. The DfT deadline for responses is July 24.
Showroom information could be enhanced through the introduction of an environmental label for cars. The LowCVP’s Passenger Car Working Group is currently working on the practical aspects surrounding the introduction of such a scheme into the UK.
