The Department for Transport (DfT) Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Grant Programme 2009 to 2011 was launched on 22nd July 2009. The Programme will provide £1 million in grant funding at an average 50% intervention rate for alternative refuelling infrastructure, including electric vehicle recharging, natural gas, hydrogen and bio-methane refuelling.
The Programme will be managed by Cenex, the UK Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technologies, on behalf of the DfT.
Further details of the Programme are provided on the Cenex website (please follow associated link) or via email on igp@cenex.co.uk
Applications for grant funding will be invited from the launch date until 30th September 2009. Further calls for bids have deadlines for applications in December 2009, March 2010 and July 2010, subject to the availability of remaining funding.
In order to provide details of the Infrastructure Grant Programme and promote understanding of the application process, Cenex will be holding the following Information Day:
- Wales (Baglan Energy Centre, Port Talbot), 12th August 10am to 3pm
At this, the final in a series of events, details of the Infrastructure Grant Programme will be provided and there will be an opportunity to question a panel of experts and technology providers. Following a buffet lunch there will be project surgeries – an opportunity for potential applicants to seek advice on developing their own projects.
This Information Day is free of charge and should you wish to register for a place please contact igp@cenex.co.uk or register via the website (associated link).
An Infrastructure Grant Programme event is also provisionally arranged in London, in association with Transport for London and the Greater London Authority, to take place in Autumn 2009. If you are interested in attending this event please contact igp@cenex.co.uk
