An All-Party Parliamentary Renewable Transport Fuels Group has been launched to raise the profile amongst Parliamentarians of the potential for renewable transport fuels.

The Group, to be chaired by Paddy Tipping MP, aims to raise the profile amongst Parliamentarians of the potential for renewable transport fuels to help reduce carbon emissions from the transport sector; increase fuel security; and to consider opportunities for UK businesses and the agricultural sector. Membership is by invitation only.

The Group will provide a forum for the broad range of people with an interest in biofuels to discuss the key policy issues affecting the sector.

To this end the Group will work to:

• Inform Parliamentarians of the key issues facing the development of renewable transport fuels.
• Organise regular meetings at which interested parties are able to discuss policy proposals to promote the sector and barriers to its growth.
• Improve communication between policy makers, opinion formers and other stakeholders on renewable transport fuels.
