Following the success of its involvement last year, KTN’s Materials Innovation Showcase will feature at the Cenex Low Carbon Vehicle 2016 event (Cenex-LCV2016). The showcase aims to raise the awareness of grass roots innovation and potentially game-changing technologies being pioneered by UK-based SMEs,  and micro-enterprises, Universities and RTOs.

KTN’s Head of Materials and Nanotechnology Robert Quarshie states:

“The companies that participated in KTN’s Materials Innovation Showcase last year found it was a great way of introducing their technology to the low carbon vehicle market. As the UK’s innovation network, KTN is very pleased to be hosting another showcase at Cenex-LCV2016 — and I invite any company attending to come to our showcase to witness how innovations in advanced materials can bring vast benefits and have many applications.”

Innovations in materials are crucial to meeting the demands of the low carbon vehicle industry, such as producing lighter vehicles, improving recyclability, increasing energy storage and maximising the efficiency of critical components. Last year’s showcase included breakthrough carbon fibre technologies, pioneering alloys, steels and coatings, as well as innovations that improve recycling and speed up prototyping.

The Knowledge Transfer Network will also be hosting a set of talks on the first day of the event, during which Materials Innovation Showcase exhibitors will explain the potential of their technology.

There are still a few spaces available on the showcase and any organisation interested in exhibiting should contact Ajay Kapadia at ajay.kapadia@ktn-uk.org.

The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is the UK’s innovation network. It brings together businesses, entrepreneurs, academics and funders to develop new products, processes and services. KTN is free to join and is funded by Innovate UK.
