The 12th edition of the Michelin Challenge Bibendum Global Summit will take place in Chengdu, Western China from 11-14 November. The event will take a comprehensive and systematic approach with the aim of delivering tangible and deployable solutions to policy makers.
Organiser Michelin says that Challenge Bibendum is a 'think and action tank' bringing together all transport stakeholders including users, manufacturers, suppliers, public and private operators, universities, energy suppliers, research institutes, political leaders and NGOs. Its aim is to develop a common vision of tomorrow’s sustainable mobility and to make decisions on real world solutions that generate individual, business, and social benefits.
The LowCVP's Managing Director, Andy Eastlake, will be travelling to Chengdu and taking part in several activities at the event including acting as an expert panellist in two workshops: Energy Efficient Vehicles Towards 50g CO2/km and Low Emission and High Safety Zones in Urban Areas. The LowCVP has played a prominent role in several past editions of Challenge Bibendum.
The 2014 Michelin Challenge Bibendum will address each issue through a three-phase process: firstly in working groups to agree a common diagnosis; followed by the design of solutions, priorities and recommendations to be recorded in a collective “green book”; finally, a restitution phase with workshops and conferences is organised for policy makers during the global summit.
