LowCVP will host the third Low Emission Bus Workshop in Nottingham, discussing the challenges facing the city and the wider county and celebrating the achievements made in introducing Low Emission Bus technologies in the city. There will be speakers from: Nottingham City Council, Nottingham Community Transport, Nottingham City Transport, Leicester City Council and National Express Bus, as well as a range of exhibitors. The event is free to attend.

Nottingham Councillor Sally Longford will introduce the workshop which will provide local authorities and bus operators with information on new technologies and fuels, enable the sharing of operational experiences of low carbon and low emission solutions for bus fleets around the UK, including retrofit SCR projects. There will be opportunities to meet Low Emission Bus manufacturers, fuel suppliers, retrofit electric and hybrid powertrain providers, telematics providers and exhaust after-treatment suppliers.
Following lunch and networking, delegates will have the opportunity to visit Nottingham City Transport’s biomethane bus depot on Lower Parliament Street via a Scania ADL E400 biomethane double deck bus. There will also be two battery electric buses on display - Yutong’s E12 and Optare’s MetroCity.
LowCVP is currently conducting a series of tests on Euro VI diesels for DfT to establish a new conventional performance which will feed into the next round of national funding. This next round of funding will look to establish the definition of an “Ultra-Low Emission Bus” and continue to drive ambition in the UK bus market, which has so far led the low carbon revolution in transport.
This event will give more details of LowCVP’s work in this area as well as provide updates on topics such as BSOG and the Clean Bus Technology Fund, which closes for applications the day after the workshop.
