Description:
Gasrec is hosting an open day at their Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) Bio-LNG refuelling station on Thursday, 5th June 2014. The event will be organised as a ‘drop in’ event between 11am – 2pm, for which delegates can register in advance (see registration link above).
The event will be an opportunity to observe the refuelling site in action and with Gasrec representatives on site you will be able discuss the potential for your fleet, the refuelling process and benefits as well as any other questions.

DIRFT is the UK’s first ‘open-access’ Bio-LNG filling station and the first station to be funded under a £4.9 million grant awarded to Gasrec by the European Union’s TEN-T Executive Agency to establish a network of five new filling stations across the UK motorway network. Offering enhanced emission reduction savings for heavy goods vehicle operators to cut fuel costs and significantly reduce pollution, this growing network of refuelling stations will also help the UK meet its long-term carbon reduction targets in the transport sector.
The TEN-T funding will include provision for a study to follow the development of the network of refuelling sites. Consultants, Transport & Travel Research Ltd (TTR) will be conducting the study for Gasrec, focusing on the use of Bio-LNG with HGV fleet operators operating gas powered vehicles in the UK. Gasrec’s experience from the network roll-out and study findings will be used to contribute to the setting of LNG refueling standards and the roadmap for deploying Bio-LNG stations across the TEN-T European network.
