Description:
Freight in the City is a new initiative from Road Transport Media Ltd which will focus on the promotion of sustainable urban deliveries. The LowCVP's MD Andy Eastlake will speak at the event in which the Partnership is also otherwise associated.
Road Transport Media Ltd is the publisher of Commercial Motor and Truck and Driver, amongst others. The initiative has been created to provide a central resource as well as a platform for anyone involved in making freight transportation as clean, safe and quiet as possible.
The event will run seminars divided into three streams: ‘Clean’, ‘Safe’, and ‘Quiet & Efficient’.
The LowCVP is an event associate and the Partnership's MD Andy Eastlake will address the event's 'Clean' seminar stream providing an overview of the different alternative fuels available for commercial vehicles, those which are becoming most prevalent in the UK, and which ones suit the various urban delivery patterns.
As the UK has moved out of recession a variety of economic trends have come together to increase the level of commercial traffic in our city centres. Large scale commercial and residential infrastructure projects have increased traffic while expanding leisure and retail complexes require more frequent deliveries. The initiative will seek to draw together all the key audiences to debate the issues and identify the solutions including local authorities, retailers or a logistics company.
Any initiatives or projects that are working towards making deliveries in a more sustainable way will feature in Freight in the City editorial coverage.
